Why outsource what’s already within you?
I dont think anyone has missed how AI today has become an included part in many different areas both online and elsewhere. I can defenitely see how many things can be more efficient using this tool, and I use it too sometimes, for example when I’m working on a text and/or a translation. And it saves me alot of time!
In my contemplation today I will focus on some of the thing that might be missed if we dont use discerment.
I hear more and more people asking ChatGpt about personal/relational questions like ” what should I do in this situation? Is this person good for me? What is the best diet for me?”
But do we really need to go outside of ourselves to ask these questions? I don’t believe so. I believe and trust that we all have our own inner knowing about what is best for us.
Working with the nervous system as I do, strenghtens my theory and this is how (very simplified explained);
When you get in touch with your bodily sensations and get curious about your emotions and patterns and start to see this as ”keys” or information from your body intelligence, you will find alot of ”coded” information. I use the word ”coded” because it’s for many of us hidden or hard to translate into meaning, at first.
When using somatic tools like we do for example in Somatic Experiencing® we explore sensations, emotions and movements or lack of movements, that shows up in the body. For example, there’s a reason why my body contracts every time I think of a person who wasn’t kind to me or my puls gets faster when I get scared.
And just like the bodily senstaions and emotions leads us to the more constricted parts when fear, stress or trauma might be the cause, likewise the body sensations and emotions also leads us towards what is right, light, easy and fun! When we get into contact with these places in our body where relaxation and ease are present, we expand. In this expansion we are more avaliable to life, we think clearer, see clearer and move with more ease.
There are many different ways to get to this state of expansion, the easiest way is to do things you enjoy doing, things that gives you energy and makes you happy and at peace. Another way is to meditate. When you meditate you tap into the core of your being and just watch the thoughts, the sensations and the emotions that are present in every moment.
In my experience it is in these moments of stillness I can listen from within and answers arise, sometimes suttle and sometimes very clear. There’s an intelligence inside of us that always leads us to where we are supposed to go (and protect us from what and where not to go) and it uses the language of sensations and emotions and also clarity, when sitting with a question of some sort.
Gregg Braden recently came out with a new book Pure Human – The Hidden Truth of Our Divinity, Power and Destiny wich goes deeper into this subject and writes;
”Within each of us is a personal code of divinity to do just that – to unlock our uniquely human technology of neural networks, cell membranes , and heart intelligence that allows us to supercharge our health, to triumph over the fear and darkness that we face in our lives, and give us the evolutionary edge to thrive in our world of uncertainty.
New discoveries reveal that our natural abilities equal, and in some ways exceed, the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI), chemical substitutes for our immune system, and lifestyle-modyfying nanosensors that we’re being encouraged to accept into our bodies. The danger of embracing these thechnologies is that our natural systems begin to atrophy, and eventually fail, in the presence of the artificial substitutes.”
My call is for discernment in these matters – what are we willing to outsource from our inner knowing and bodily intelligence? I hope I might have inspired you to check in with your own ”II” (Inner Intelligence) next time you sit with a question or a dilemma, see what arises within you by itself…
And, if you find it difficult to get in touch with your body it might be a key from your body telling you it isn’t safe to relax into this right now, which might be because of high level of stress and/or trauma in the past, then some nervous system education and/or trauma work might be useful and supportive.
