October Newsletter

Sometimes I find myself constantly looking for new knowledge and another opportunity to learn and grow, through quite intellectual and a bit heavy books and lectures… with the result that I instead of feeling inspired and dressed with more tools, I feel overwhelmed and brain tired.

I’ve come to recognize that when this feeling occurs, it’s time to do something else or look somewhere else for inspiration and support.

So today I choose to share two poems, and hope they find you well! Both authors have written several books and posts regularly on their Facebook pages if their words resonate with you.

The first one is by Irish poet David Whyte;

“Sometimes, you need the ocean light,
and colors you’ve never seen before
painted through an evening sky.

Sometimes you need your God
to be a simple invitation
not a telling word of wisdom.

Sometimes you need only the first shyness
that comes from being shown things
far beyond your understanding,

so that you can fly and become free
by being still and by being still here.

And then there are times you want to be
brought to ground by touch
and touch alone.

To know those arms around you
and to make your home in the world
just by being wanted.

To see eyes looking back at you,
as eyes should see you at last,

seeing you, as you always wanted to be seen,
seeing you, as you yourself
had always wanted to see the world.”

-David Whyte

The next poem is by British author/teacher Jeff Foster;

 When you shift your focus
from what is absent
to what is present,
from what is missing
to what has been given,
from what you are not
to who you are,
from the ravages of linear time
to the immediacy of Now,
you are reconnecting
with love, truth and beauty,
and abundance is yours,
effortlessly.

For in truth,
nothing is lacking where you are,
nothing is missing from the present scene of the movie of your life,
and you are forever full,
and at the point of completion.

The only reason
you cannot find Oneness
is because you never left.

The day is just waiting to be lived.

So breathe in life, friend,
breathe in life.

– Jeff Foster

Reconnecting to simplicity also works for me. I learned it walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela 5 years ago. I share my experience in my latest blog post.

Wishing you all the best and that you find your ways of comforting and supporting yourself when you, like me, sometimes just need something else!

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or would like to book a session.

With gratitude,

Helena
