June 2025 Newsletter
Dear …
With summer approaching and hopefully some welcome breaks from the normal routines. For some that might mean vacation and for some others there’s not so much change in the daily routines.
For all us though, the summer brings another kind of weather, light and longer days, and that as we know affects us in different ways. Nowadays I’m aware not to assume anything; sun doesn’t equal that life feels easy and vacation doesn’t necessary mean peace of heart .
So that to say – with respect for whereever you are at right now – I’m sending you warm thoughts and gratitude for finding your way here to read my words!
I wanted to highlight two books today that I recently read, and they both connect where I started my journey of self discovery soon 15 years ago, at Baravara in Sweden. There I did an 18 months explorative training togheter with 29 other participants. Many ask me how these weeks (11 weeks in total) changed me and where they’ve led me? And I would love to write a book about this one day, because it took me on a journey I couldnt have pictured…becoming a therapist myself for example!
But someone else has written a book, Annika Bevington. Her husband was killed in the terror attack in Stockholm 2017 and her book, ”Jag ska leva för oss båda” (”I will live for the both of us”) is her inspiring and strong story how to find meaning in her life again (in Swedish only). You can by her book here
Another book linked to Baravara is Isa Khalwati’s book ”The Seed Of Being”. The book can be used as a tool for reflection and plenty of room left emty to make your own comments and reflections. The book is about how you can learn how your feelings and needs are signs and opportunities to look deeper into who you really are. A handfast guide and beautifully illustrated by Isa. Isa is one of the therapists at Baravara and also the founder of UrbanOm in Stockholm, a place for yoga, meditation, dance, bodywork and different therapies. Link to where you can buy Isa’s book here
And speaking of Baravara, where I recently were back to assist one of the groups, I was reminded of the profound journey that is possible when held in a safe place surrounded by a group of people sharing the experience. The participants courage and the safe space that is created in the group setting, supports transformation for each individual. For more info about Baravara and what they are offering (most groups are held in English) you can read more here.
This summer I will be spending some time working in Norway, as I usually do. And for the rest I will travel a bit and also spend time with family and friends, hopefully with lots of sun, swimming, hiking and spontanous trips and in between I will be open for clients. That’s my kind of summer!
Wishing you all the best and YOUR kind of summer 🌸
Love and gratitude until next time …
Helena
