July 2021 Newsletter

Just a short letter to wish You a beautiful summer!

I believe we all need it; some time off, a few days in a row without anything scheduled, and for many of us a necessary break from the screen…

Personally, I will go to an almost deserted place in the middle of nowhere, just a house, a lake, and a pier for a week…There I will read books, practice yoga, meditate, go on the lake in my kayak and play boardgames with my husband in the evenings. Reset. Recharge.

Back home again we hope to have some family and friends visiting, finally!

I try to tell myself to read something else than work related things when on vacation…but I just find it so interesting and rewarding to keep learning more about how it is to be human.

Maybe the two books I’ve chosen to bring with me are a bit in between; The first one is Anam Cara; a book of Celtic wisdom by John O’Donohue, and the other one is; The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz which explores the wisdom of the ancient Toltec from Mexico. I find it so interesting how these ancient wisdoms may look different on the surface but seem to be coming from the same source. And most of all, they apply more than ever in our modern time, I think…

And who knows, maybe I get inspired to write a new blog post 😉

So, whatever this summer is bringing to you, I wish you all the best with this blessing from John O’Donohue’s book Anam Cara;

A Blessing for the Senses

May your body be blessed.
May you realize that your body is a faithful
and beautiful friend of your soul.
And may you be peaceful and joyful
and recognize that your senses
are sacred thresholds.
May you realize that holiness is
mindful, gazing, feeling, hearing, and touching.
May your senses gather you and bring you home.
May your senses always enable you to
celebrate the universe and the mystery
and possibilities in your presence here.
May the Eros of the Earth bless you.

With gratitude,

Helena
